Story by: Hafsah Nadillah
“Dara! Let’s go downstairs, it’s noon already!” Dara’s mother called.
DUK! DUK! DUK! (the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs) Dara came down.
“Dara, please come down slowly. You’re making a lot of noise.”
“What’s the matter, Mommy? Why are you calling me?”
“Look at the clock, it’s already 10 o’clock. It’s noon already. Why are you still in your room?”
“I don’t have anything interesting to do, Mommy.”
“Why don’t you go outside and play with your friends?” her mother suggested.
Dara pondered for a moment.
“Hey Dara, what are you thinking about? Don’t be so thoughtful!” her mother said.
“No, Mommy, I’d rather stay in my room.” Dara went back to her room.
It’s been a year since I moved to the Bunga Mekar cluster, and I don’t have any friends here. I miss my best friends from my old cluster, Fey, Eve, and Nura. We haven’t met since I moved here. If I hadn’t moved, we would definitely be playing around the cluster now. It’s so sad, I miss them.
DUK! DUK! DUK! Dara came back downstairs.
“Dara! I told you before, please come down slowly.”
“Yes, Mommy, sorry.” Dara grinned.
“Why are you coming back down?” her mother asked.
“Mommy, I have a request. Please grant it, alright?” Dara pleaded.
“What is it?”
“I miss my best friends Fey, Eve, and Nura. May I go to meet and play with them, please?”
“Hmmm… you may, but on one condition.”
“What is that, Mom?”
“Look at the table.” Her mother pointed to the kitchen, which was messy with leftover cooking ingredients.
“Alright, Commander, I’m ready to clean it up.” Dara eagerly cleaned the kitchen.
In a minute, the kitchen was spotless.
“Hahaha, as usual… if you have a wish, you get my command immediately. Look, my kitchen is clean in minutes!” Her mother smiled, praising her daughter. Dara called her friends to meet up, get ready, and go to the Rasayang Restaurant, a place they usually visited.
“Fey, Eve,… Nuraaa!” Dara called her friends.
“Aaarghhh… Dara, we miss you so much!” all her friends shouted back.
Then they had a fun time together, sharing stories with each other.
Their friendship remained loyal despite the distance.
